Backstage

We present here the second version of the Mah Jong bed, which mirrors the second version of the iconic Mah Jong sofa. It is characterized by wooden platforms, which raise the upholstered part of the bed by 18 cm, and make it look like it is floating above the floor. This contemporary bed borrows alittle inspiration from 17th Century France with a distinctive wingback headboard. The soft Ondéa fabric and enveloping sides give this bed a very cosy look.

Designed by Roberto Tapinassi and Maurizio Manzoni, the elegant Backstage stands out with its bold asymmetrical base, which is upholstered in leather. Another unique feature is the velvet headboard (also available in a lot of different fabrics) with edges in the same leather as the base. The vertical bands composing the sides of the headboard are articulated to create a more intimate alcove.

This bed features the same characteristics as Roche Bobois’ iconic Mah Jong sofa. It has the same philosophy of living at ground level, but now the cushions are the headboard. The bed frame also resembles a huge cushion and exudes comfort. It is available in the entire range of fashion designer fabrics to make both subtle and bold creations.

Designed by Cédric Ragot, this refined bed is upholstered entirely in leather. There are no sharp angles, only curves, found even in the rounded shape of the cast aluminium base. The two back cushions can be raised and tilted (mechanically or electrically) for optimal comfort.
