Frigerio
company history

1938. The story of Frigerio begins in Mariano Comense, in the Brianza region, when Federico Frigerio founded a small upholstery workshop. His dedication to craftsmanship and passion for fine detailing laid the foundation for what would become a distinguished Italian furniture brand.

1950s–1960s. Under the leadership of Federico’s son, the company expanded its production, establishing a reputation for refined upholstered furniture that combined traditional tailoring with contemporary aesthetics.

1970s–1980s. Frigerio gained wider recognition in Italy and abroad, thanks to its focus on modular sofas and timeless design. The brand’s collections began to appear in prestigious showrooms, reflecting the growing demand for Italian-made luxury furniture.

1990s. With the third generation entering the company, Frigerio embraced new technologies while preserving artisanal know-how. Leather cutting, fabric tailoring, and bespoke upholstery remained central, but automated systems were introduced to ensure precision and consistency.

2000s. Frigerio strengthened collaborations with leading Italian designers, creating collections that merged innovation with heritage. Modular systems such as Miller and Taylor exemplified the brand’s ability to adapt to contemporary lifestyles.

2010s. The company expanded its global presence, delivering projects and collections to luxury residences, hotels, and international design fairs. Frigerio became synonymous with understated elegance and Italian craftsmanship.

Today. Now led by Gianfranco Frigerio and the third generation of the family, the brand continues to evolve with innovative materials, refined modular designs, and strong partnerships with renowned designers. Frigerio stands as a symbol of modern Italian luxury, combining heritage, creativity, and timeless elegance.
