Platea by Pianca

Pianca Platea is a modern interpretation of the traditional bergère. Emilio Nanni balanced the backrest with greater height and width while keeping its thickness moderate, creating a formal look through straight and curved lines. The wide seat uses padding with different comfort zones for support. The upholstery cover has blanket stitching and is available in the leathers and fabrics of the Pianca collection, including manmade leathers.

The base uses a tubular structure that follows the armchair’s contours and ends on brass shoes. It is available in all the metal finishes and matt lacquers in the range. Platea is also available with an optional pouf. The design won the German Design Award 2021.
