Porada
company history

Founded in 1968 by Luigi Allievi in Cabiate, in the heart of Italy’s Brianza furniture district, Porada was born from a deep-rooted passion for solid wood craftsmanship. What began as a specialist chair-making workshop has evolved into one of the most respected names in modern Italian design. Today, Porada stands as a global ambassador of refined aesthetics, balancing artisanal tradition with forward-looking design.

With over five decades of heritage, Porada remains a family-run company that merges elegance, innovation, and functional beauty. Its philosophy centers on creating timeless pieces where every curve and joint reflects the values of Italian excellence. From sculptural armchairs to sleek dining tables and sculpted mirrors, Porada’s furniture is celebrated for its organic forms, warm tones, and seamless integration into both classic and contemporary interiors.

Porada collaborates with some of the world’s most acclaimed designers—including Tarcisio Colzani, Carlo Ballabio, and Patrick Jouin—to produce collections that highlight the natural beauty of wood, especially canaletta walnut. Each product is meticulously crafted in Italy, undergoing rigorous quality control and reflecting a deep respect for materials, people, and the environment.

The brand’s international presence includes appearances at Salone del Mobile.Milano and exhibitions across Europe, Asia, and the Middle East, showcasing collections that blend sculptural elegance with everyday functionality. Porada’s signature lies in its ability to turn simple shapes into refined statements of style, often enhanced by marble, glass, and brushed metals.

Porada – Everything is born from the love of wood. This guiding principle continues to inspire furniture that transcends trends, embodying Italian sophistication with a modern spirit.
