Milestones

1978

Gianni Versace founds the fashion house

Gianni Versace, born 1946 in Reggio Calabria, opens his first boutique on Via della Spiga in Milan and presents his debut collection at La Permanente in March. The original company, registered as Gianni Versace Donna, will grow into the global luxury house headquartered today at Piazza Luigi Einaudi 4, Milan.

1982

Move into housewares

Versace expands beyond fashion into jewellery, china and textiles for the home — the first foothold of what will later be formalised as Versace Home.

1988

The Greca (Greek Key) motif debuts

Gianni Versace introduces the Greek Key in the Fall-Winter 1988 ready-to-wear collection. Decades later, La Greca returns as a defining pattern across Versace Home upholstery and bed linen.

1989

Atelier Versace haute couture

The Atelier Versace haute couture line is launched, presented for the first time in Paris.

1992

Versace Home interiors launch

Versace becomes one of the first fashion houses to launch a dedicated home-interiors line — beginning with textiles and quickly expanding to porcelain tableware through a partnership with the German manufacturer Rosenthal that is still running today.

1994

Vanitas chair

The wooden Vanitas chair, the earliest dated piece in the Versace Home furniture canon, debuts. It will be re-upholstered in velvet and re-presented at Salone del Mobile 2025.

1997

Gianni Versace assassinated; Donatella becomes Creative Director

Gianni Versace is murdered outside his Miami Beach home, Casa Casuarina, on 15 July 1997. His sister Donatella Versace, who had been Vice President since 1978, becomes Creative Director — a role she will hold until 2025.

2014

Blackstone takes a minority stake

Blackstone purchases a 20% stake in Versace for €210 million — the brand's first non-family ownership.

2019

Capri Holdings acquires Versace

On 2 January 2019, Capri Holdings (the former Michael Kors group) closes its acquisition of Versace for approximately US$2.1 billion.

2020

Versace Home furniture licensed to Lifestyle Design Group

Versace signs a licence with Lifestyle Design Group — the Italian home-design division of US-based Haworth Group — for the production and distribution of Versace Home furniture. The licence covers furniture only; textiles and accessories remain in-house, ceramics continue under Rosenthal, and wallpaper and floor tiles stay with their respective licensees.

2023

Rosenthal × Versace turns 30

The Rosenthal × Versace partnership marks 30 years with a limited mug collection that revives a 1993 design — gold-toned Barocco motifs paired with a Medusa lid.

2024

"If These Walls Could Talk" at Palazzo Versace

Salone del Mobile installation at the brand's original Milan atelier on Via Gesù 12 debuts the Medusa '95 Conversation Sofa, La Greca Bed, Lady Desk, and Moon Island sofa and armchair.

2025

Prada Group acquires Versace

Announced 10 April 2025 and closed 2 December 2025: Prada Group acquires Versace from Capri Holdings for €1.25 billion (~US$1.375 billion). The same year Donatella Versace steps down as Chief Creative Officer (effective 12 March) and becomes Chief Brand Ambassador (1 April); Dario Vitale is appointed Chief Creative Officer.

Inside

Construction

Curved wood legs — lacquered or veneered

Legs in curved wood. The brand's framing: "With its rounded design, The Stage coffee table becomes the centrepiece of the living area. The curved legs, available in lacquered or wood veneered versions, support a beveled top in stratified glass or in a selection of marbles with glossy finish." Two leg-finish families: lacquered (6 colours: Ivory, Black, Arctic White, Stone, Quartz Grey, Pearl Grey) or wood veneered (5 species: Stone Sycamore, Pale Grey Sycamore, Honey Awari, Dark Smoked Red Gum, Ebony Macassar). Glossy brushed finish across both families.

Beveled top — stratified glass or marble

Top with beveled edge — the family's defining geometric detail (different from a flat-edge or chamfered-edge top). Two material families published. Stratified extra-clear glass back-lacquered in coordinated colours: Night Sun, coordinated colours, or Dark Grey. Or marble in 10 options: Carrara Gioia, Valentine Grey, Sahara Noir, Calcite Blue, Fiordo Rosa, Calacatta Gold, Green Ming, White Lasa, Bronze Fantasy, Oriental Wave — glossy finish. The beveled edge reads softer than a sharp 90-degree corner; the bevel itself is the design accent.

Metal joint at leg meeting — Medusa logo

Decorative element: "The iconic 3D Metal Medusa logo, applied on the metal detail joining the two legs, completes the piece with a distinctive signature." The legs meet via a metal joint detail — visible at the table's base, joining the curved leg verticals into a structural unit. The 3D Metal Medusa is applied to that metal joint, in polished Gold, polished Chrome, or Bronze finish. The metal joint is structural and decorative simultaneously: it joins the legs and carries the brand mark.

Three SKUs — round + two squares

Three published configurations. Ø 60 × 53 H round — tall side-table or accent-table register. 93 × 93 × 44 H square — standard coffee-table tier. 122 × 122 × 33 H low square — low/lounge-pit tier. Different from a single-format family: the three SKUs cover three distinct height registers (53 H high accent / 44 H standard coffee / 33 H low lounge). Mix the three for a multi-tier composition in a single lounge — round Ø 60 as side-table, square 93 as primary coffee, low 122 as central lounge anchor.

Glossy brushed leg finish + glossy top

All wood legs (whether lacquered or veneered) carry a glossy brushed finish — the brush marks visible under the gloss for a tactile-yet-polished register. Marble tops are glossy; glass tops are stratified extra-clear (multi-layer glass with a back-lacquer treatment). The polished registers across legs, top, and metal joint all read as a high-luxury surface palette — different from matte or hand-finished registers elsewhere in the Versace Home catalogue.

Metal joint with 3D Medusa — leg detail

Metal joint with 3D Medusa — leg detail

Detail of the family's defining hardware — the metal joint connecting the two curved legs, with the 3D Metal Medusa logo applied. The metal joint is in polished Gold, polished Chrome, or Bronze finish — choose to match other Versace Home pieces in the room. The leg's curved geometry visible above and below the joint shows how the structural element doubles as the brand's primary visible mark on the table.

Modules

Round Ø 60 × 53 H — accent / side-table

Round Ø 60 × 53 H — accent / side-table

Ø 60 × 53 H cm

Round configuration at 53 H — taller than typical coffee tables. Reads as a tall accent table beside seating, an end-table register, or a drink-and-magazine companion to a single armchair. Use as a single accent piece or pair two flanking a sofa in matching finish. The 53 H lifts the surface to lap-of-seated register — drinks at hand-height when seated upright on a sofa or armchair.

Square 93 × 93 × 44 H — standard coffee tier

Square 93 × 93 × 44 H — standard coffee tier

93 W × 93 D × 44 H cm

Standard coffee-table tier — 44 H is conventional coffee-table height, suitable for cushion-edge-aligned drinks register beside sofas. Square 93×93 footprint anchors a typical 3-seater or 4-seater sofa cluster. Pair with the Ø 60 × 53 H round and/or the low 122 × 122 × 33 H to compose a multi-tier coffee setup. Stone Sycamore veneer (shown) is the cool-tone wood option; specify any of the 11 leg finishes to match the room.

Low square 122 × 122 × 33 H — lounge-pit tier

Low square 122 × 122 × 33 H — lounge-pit tier

122 W × 122 D × 33 H cm

Low / lounge-pit tier — 33 H is below standard coffee-table height, sized for sofa-pit registers where the table sits below cushion-edge level. The 122 × 122 large square footprint anchors a multi-sofa or multi-armchair lounge cluster from a central position. Use as the visual centre of a contemporary lounge layout where surrounding seating faces inward toward the low table. Combine with the standard 93 × 93 × 44 H beside an armchair for a layered coffee-table composition.

FAQ

Frequently asked

Different family vocabularies. Stiletto (id 412, indoor) uses matt aluminium frames with marble or Ebony Macassar tops, tapered stiletto-heel feet. La Greca (id 408) uses steel frames etched with the Versace logo. Iconic (id 409) uses asymmetric organic-edged tops on slim stems. Medallion (id 411) uses stainless-steel frames in gold/gun-metal/Satin Grey with glass tops. The Stage (this product) uses curved wood legs (lacquered or veneered) joined by a metal-Medusa-logo joint, beveled top in glass or marble. Each family has a distinct material register and a distinct hardware register; choose by which Versace Home family the room is being built around.

Ø 60 × 53 H round is the accent / side-table register — beside a single armchair, at the end of a sofa, or as a drinks-and-magazine companion. Square 93 × 93 × 44 H is the standard coffee-table tier — anchors a typical 3- or 4-seater sofa cluster. Low square 122 × 122 × 33 H is the lounge-pit tier — central anchor for a multi-sofa lounge where surrounding seating faces inward. Mix all three for a layered composition: low square as central anchor, square 93 beside an armchair, round Ø 60 as side-table at sofa end.

Lacquered legs (Ivory, Black, Arctic White, Stone, Quartz Grey, Pearl Grey) read smooth and contemporary — best for clean architectural rooms with painted walls. Veneered legs (Stone Sycamore, Pale Grey Sycamore, Honey Awari, Dark Smoked Red Gum, Ebony Macassar) read warmer and more traditional — best for rooms with wood floors, traditional architecture, or layered material palettes. Black lacquer pairs with the dark Versace Home register; Arctic White with bright airy interiors; Ebony Macassar with the rest of the wengé/Ebony Macassar family across V-King bed feet, etc. The glossy brushed finish across both lacquered and veneered legs reads as polished but tactile.

Glass top (back-lacquered extraclear stratified glass, in Night Sun, coordinated colours, or Dark Grey) reads softer and more contemporary — practical as a daily-use coffee-table surface where occasional spills are expected (glass cleans easily). Marble top (10 options across light to dark, classic to exotic) reads as the architectural anchor — adds tactile weight and serves as the room's primary stone register. Match the marble to other stones in the room (floor, fireplace, kitchen counter) for a coordinated material palette; or specify glass for a quieter visual register where the curved legs are the primary statement.

Match the room's broader hardware register. Polished Gold reads warm-tone luxury — pairs with V-King family hardware (Barocco V Metal applique), Goddess gold lighting, gold-finish La Medusa Round Metal armchairs. Polished Chrome reads cool contemporary — pairs with chrome bathroom fixtures, modern minimalist interiors. Bronze is the matte mid-tone — works in transitional rooms and mixed-metal palettes. The metal joint with the 3D Medusa logo is the table's primary brand mark; specify the same finish as the room's other Versace Home hardware (e.g., the Palace sofa medallions or Tholos table steel detail) for a coordinated register.
