Story

Milestones

1978

Gianni Versace founds the fashion house

Gianni Versace, born 1946 in Reggio Calabria, opens his first boutique on Via della Spiga in Milan and presents his debut collection at La Permanente in March. The original company, registered as Gianni Versace Donna, will grow into the global luxury house headquartered today at Piazza Luigi Einaudi 4, Milan.

1982

Move into housewares

Versace expands beyond fashion into jewellery, china and textiles for the home — the first foothold of what will later be formalised as Versace Home.

1988

The Greca (Greek Key) motif debuts

Gianni Versace introduces the Greek Key in the Fall-Winter 1988 ready-to-wear collection. Decades later, La Greca returns as a defining pattern across Versace Home upholstery and bed linen.

1989

Atelier Versace haute couture

The Atelier Versace haute couture line is launched, presented for the first time in Paris.

1992

Versace Home interiors launch

Versace becomes one of the first fashion houses to launch a dedicated home-interiors line — beginning with textiles and quickly expanding to porcelain tableware through a partnership with the German manufacturer Rosenthal that is still running today.

1994

Vanitas chair

The wooden Vanitas chair, the earliest dated piece in the Versace Home furniture canon, debuts. It will be re-upholstered in velvet and re-presented at Salone del Mobile 2025.

1997

Gianni Versace assassinated; Donatella becomes Creative Director

Gianni Versace is murdered outside his Miami Beach home, Casa Casuarina, on 15 July 1997. His sister Donatella Versace, who had been Vice President since 1978, becomes Creative Director — a role she will hold until 2025.

2014

Blackstone takes a minority stake

Blackstone purchases a 20% stake in Versace for €210 million — the brand's first non-family ownership.

2019

Capri Holdings acquires Versace

On 2 January 2019, Capri Holdings (the former Michael Kors group) closes its acquisition of Versace for approximately US$2.1 billion.

2020

Versace Home furniture licensed to Lifestyle Design Group

Versace signs a licence with Lifestyle Design Group — the Italian home-design division of US-based Haworth Group — for the production and distribution of Versace Home furniture. The licence covers furniture only; textiles and accessories remain in-house, ceramics continue under Rosenthal, and wallpaper and floor tiles stay with their respective licensees.

2023

Rosenthal × Versace turns 30

The Rosenthal × Versace partnership marks 30 years with a limited mug collection that revives a 1993 design — gold-toned Barocco motifs paired with a Medusa lid.

2024

"If These Walls Could Talk" at Palazzo Versace

Salone del Mobile installation at the brand's original Milan atelier on Via Gesù 12 debuts the Medusa '95 Conversation Sofa, La Greca Bed, Lady Desk, and Moon Island sofa and armchair.

2025

Prada Group acquires Versace

Announced 10 April 2025 and closed 2 December 2025: Prada Group acquires Versace from Capri Holdings for €1.25 billion (~US$1.375 billion). The same year Donatella Versace steps down as Chief Creative Officer (effective 12 March) and becomes Chief Brand Ambassador (1 April); Dario Vitale is appointed Chief Creative Officer.

Inside

Construction

Aluminium frame, matt white lacquered

Frame in aluminium, lacquered matt white. The brand's framing: "Stiletto Outdoor armchair available lacquered in matt white with fabric bands to match the cushion covers. The clean, contemporary lines of the frame taper down into the feet, recalling the seduction of the iconic stiletto heel." Same matt white aluminium register as the rest of the Stiletto Outdoor family — coordinate with the outdoor sofa (id 2456), sunbed (id 2457), coffee tables (id 438), dining table (id 2458), and Intreccio chair (id 2461).

Tapered feet — stiletto-heel reference

The frame's clean contemporary lines taper down into the feet, recalling the seduction of the iconic stiletto heel — the family-name geometric motif. Same tapered-leg vocabulary as the indoor Stiletto armchair (id 404) but in matt white aluminium rather than indoor steel/finishes. The taper is the visual signature that identifies a piece as Stiletto-family across both indoor and outdoor lines.

Fabric bands on the frame

The matt white frame is trimmed with fabric bands that match the cushion covers — a textile element bridging the hard frame and the soft seat. Different from a fully-painted outdoor frame: the fabric band gives the armchair a softer outdoor register, and the matched fabric across band + cushion creates visual continuity. Choose the cushion fabric and the band tracks it.

Removable fabric cushion cover

Cushions with removable fabric covers — practical for outdoor use where covers see UV exposure, occasional rain, dust. Removability allows seasonal swapping or replacement without replacing the underlying foam. The fabric collection options are not published on LLG; treat as customer-specified outdoor-grade fabric.

Waterproof outdoor cover (protective)

Waterproof cover supplied — the protective overcover that goes over the armchair when not in use, protecting frame and cushions from rain, dust, salt spray, and UV bleaching during off-seasons or storms. Standard kit on outdoor furniture at this register. The cover is not the upholstery — it's the protective overshell.

Matt white aluminium + fabric bands + tapered feet

Matt white aluminium + fabric bands + tapered feet

Top-down view of the armchair shows the deep, comfortable seat plan — the aluminium frame's matt white reads as the architectural border, the fabric bands at the joints add textile continuity, and the tapered feet (just visible at the corners) carry the stiletto-heel motif. Pair with the Stiletto outdoor sofa (id 2456) for a coordinated lounge cluster — same frame finish, same fabric band/cushion vocabulary across the family.

Single configuration

Single configuration

102 W × 88 D × 78 H cm

One published size. At 102 × 88 × 78 H, the armchair sits as a personal lounge format — not a small accent chair, not a wide modular sofa. Pair two armchairs flanking a Stiletto outdoor coffee table for a conversation pair; combine with the Stiletto outdoor sofa for an L-shape lounge corner; or run a row of armchairs facing the outdoor dining setup as overflow seating. The 88 D depth gives the seat enough surface for prolonged sitting (poolside, sunset register).

FAQ

Frequently asked

Different material register. Indoor (id 404, 95 × 79 × 79 H) uses indoor-finish frame + indoor upholstery (typically leather or fabric on a non-outdoor frame). Outdoor (this product, 102 × 88 × 78 H) uses matt white lacquered aluminium frame + fabric bands + waterproof cover. The dimensions differ slightly (outdoor is wider/deeper, marginally lower) — outdoor armchair is built for terrace seating with a slightly more generous seat. Choose by venue, not by aesthetic preference; both share the tapered stiletto-heel feet motif.

The waterproof cover is supplied for protection during rain or off-season storage — use it. The matt white aluminium frame is corrosion-resistant and built for outdoor use, but extended exposure to extreme weather (heavy snow, salt spray, sustained UV) shortens the frame's finish life and ages the cushion fabric. In Mediterranean / Gulf climates, the armchair lives outdoors year-round under the protective cover during storms. In northern climates with snow, bring the armchair under shelter for winter and use the cover.

The fabric cover is removable, so yes — but replacement fabric must match the LLG fabric collection to maintain the band/cushion coordination (the matt white frame's fabric band is supplied to match the cushion fabric). Contact LLG via the Solomia Home account for replacement fabric options. The matched band + cushion fabric is the armchair's visual signature; mismatched replacement breaks the coordination.

The Stiletto Outdoor armchair coordinates with the Stiletto Outdoor sofa (id 2456 — 225 × 98 × 81 H), Stiletto Outdoor sunbed (id 2457 — 87 × 203 × 41 H), Stiletto Outdoor coffee tables (id 438 — 9 SKUs across H 25 and H 44), Stiletto Outdoor dining table (id 2458 — 240 or 290 × 110 × 74 H, marble top), and Stiletto Intreccio outdoor chair (id 2461 — 73 × 60 × 81 H, woven white rope detail). Build a lounge zone (sofa + 2 armchairs + low coffee tables) and a dining zone (dining table + 6 Intreccio chairs) on the same terrace; the matt white frame ties everything together.

The fabric bands give the outdoor armchair a softer textile register at the joints — same logic as a tailored garment with contrasting bands at cuff/collar. Without the bands, the matt white aluminium would read as a purely architectural piece; with the bands matched to the cushion covers, the armchair reads as upholstered furniture that happens to have an aluminium frame. The bands also serve a functional role: they cover joint hardware and create a continuous textile-to-textile transition from cushion to frame.
