It was in 2020, during its 7th edition, that the Roche Bobois Design Award crossed paths with Kateryna Sokolova, a young Ukrainian designer. Her winning project was a series of small pedestal and cocktail tables with molded or blown glass tops. Each of these techniques demonstrates a specific artisanal expertise in handling this extraordinarily versatile material: the powerful mass of the molded cup-and-ball shapes is a pleasure to touch, while the lightness and perfection of blown glass is graceful to a fault.
