Fushimi by Pianca

Pianca Fushimi is a table family by Philippe Tabet, closely linked to the Inari series and inspired by the Fushimi Inari temple in Kyoto. It reinterprets the temple’s structure, traditionally formed of two vertical columns supporting a horizontal post, on a smaller scale.

Solid ash wood is the main material, milled and turned to remove sharp edges and give the pieces a tactile feel. The joints are softly defined so the lines continue with unbroken continuity, and the overall theme is symmetry, balance, formal minimalism, lightness, and essentiality.
