Sun Ra

Sun Ra is a luminous sculpture. The lighting fixture consists of a luminous spherical element which appears to be suspended within an elliptical space, just like Saturn gravitating in its ring systems. The lampshade is made up of two semi-spheres: one in white frosted glass that acts as a diffused light source and another in perforated metal projecting direct light beams. The light fitting consists of a frame sculpted from a single block of stone, which is carefully selected to enhance the natural marble veins, available in Cervaiole marble. The luminaire is supported by a metal pedestal.
